10 way independent candidates can get more votes in India:
- Targeting the youth in India. Old voters are not likely to get influenced.
- Having a strong social media presence.(Your own youtube channel)
- Prefer state elections than central elections(MLA over MP).
- Avoid contesting if there are already three prominent parties.
- Target campaigning in areas where people likely change their vote every five years.
- Do a ground survey before fighting. Doing a Smriti Irani is not always possible.
- Make a catchy phrase or a song.
- Nothing sells better than door to door communication.
- Have a great story to tell.
- Visit every village of your area. It does influence .
- Spend good on designing posters. The way you sell yourself in your posters will have impact.
- Play catchy/trendy songs on your campaigns. When people listen those songs again, they will be reminded of you.
- Get movie stars to promote you . Have some connections there. This country still prefers selfies over qualities.
- Become a Sarpanch first. Develop the village and then showcase it.
- Become a famous star/artist and then contest elections. This has significant advantage.
- Prepare answers to all questions that public/media can ask.
- Negative publicity is good publicity.(I don't advise this. But take your chances and be in limits.)
- Don't get dejected at every no you encounter.
- Wear your name t-shirt everywhere so that the world knows when you fight.
- Mention your college/education. It may fetch you some votes.
