Review: Digital Minimalism: On Living Better with Less Technology

Digital Minimalism: On Living Better with Less Technology Digital Minimalism: On Living Better with Less Technology by Cal Newport
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book basically deals with the idea ' less is more.' Everyone has a problem with phone addiction. In the first part, Cal explains how the algorithms of this company want you to be addictive to these apps. He advises readers to go on a 30-day digital detox. After the detox, you reimagine your relationship with technology. In the second part, he discusses some practices to control your addiction like don't like photos or leave comments on posts, having some SOP's to use technology and joining the attention resistance movement.

I will highly recommend this book. All of Cal's books have one foundational idea - 'how to maximize your quality of life by focusing deeply and avoiding distractions.' Having read 3 of his 6 books, I think he is the most practical author of this century. He follows what he preaches. He doesn't have any social media accounts. I feel lucky that I came across this author.
